I’ve had lots of you all recently ask what is in my smoothie. As much as I enjoy posting the recipe frequently in the comments on Instagram, I thought I’d just show you here. So I’d have a link to send people to.
And it is usually a little greener than this. I’m not sure what is going on.
I’ve found that blending it in three different batches helps me get the consistency I like.
First, I start with almost a cup of milk (I eyeball it from the measurement on the cup), a big handful of spinach, and about a tablespoon of slivered almonds.
I blend this like mad until it is completely smooth. I don’t want any spinach leaves in my teeth.
Then I add 2 scoops of protein powder and a packet of Via. And blend again.
Finally, in goes the frozen banana.
I blend it just long enough to get the banana mixed in. I don’t know how to explain it, but the color changes starting at the bottom and then goes all the way to the top. As soon as the color is uniform, I stop.
On days that I’m home, I am a rebel and drink out of a straw. But if I’m leaving the house, the lid is non-negotiable.
Oh, and because Hershel was so stinking cute while I was taking these pictures, you get a cat picture today too. She is just hilarious.
I’m thinking I need to try avocado in a smoothie, but I don’t know if I’m that brave. Anyone tried it?
